WATER AND AID STATIONS

Seven water / aid stations are located on the course as well as at the finish line shown on the graphic below. Each station serves water in recyclable water cups and has drums and jugs available if you wish to fill your own container.
Note that all water stations are located on the left hand side of the road except the last one (Mulberry Gate) which will come up on your right.

What you will find at each aid station
Some ’emergency energy’ is available from each aid station in the form of jellybabies or similar sweets.
A bin is positioned shortly after the station – please use this to dispose of cups.
The J.B. Malone aid station at 27 km also has oranges available and an emergency portaloo (note public portaloos are just off the road 2 km later as well) and an ambulance will be stationed there or at Pier Gates (2 km down the road).
Marathon Water and Aid Stations

Water stations in black are exclusive to the full marathon while those in green are used by the half-marathon as well (see the second image below).
Water stations are spaced out roughly every 4 to 6 km.
Half-marathon Water and Aid Stations

The half-marathon has two water stations each of which you pass twice: the Wicklow Way at 5.6 and 19.3 km and the Glenmacnass Waterfall station which you pass just before and just after you turn downhill at the highest point (at 12.2 and 12.7 km).
We recommend drinking your water as you head uphill although there is a slightly flat section where you meet each water station (both ways)!
