Glen to Glen Half

Glendalough to Glenmacnass and back! Climb past the waterfall then enjoy 9 km of glorious descent.

0 – 4 km · Upper Lake park

A quiet loop of the national park before the field joins the marathon route. Flat, cool, and usually still under mist at that hour.

4 – 11 km · The climb

Onto the Military Road and up towards Glenmacnass. This is the whole of your climbing, in one honest stretch.

11 – 21.1 km · Turn and descend

Turn at the waterfall and run back down the valley to Laragh. Fast if your legs allow it — and a lot of runners find their first sub-two-hour hill half here.
